Alcohol Restrictions Print

In 2004 Franklin District Council introduced the Liquor Control Bylaw. The purpose of the bylaw is to take a proactive approach to concerns in the community relating to potential criminal offending and safety when people are drinking in public places. The alcohol restrictions aim to make the streets safer for everyone.

Areas where alcohol restrictions apply


Alcohol restrictions prohibiting the consumption and possession of liquor apply between the hours of 10pm – 7am every day throughout the year in the following public places:

Pukekohe

  • Central business district
  • Bledisloe Park
  • Rosa Birch Park
  • Heights Park Cemetery
  • Pukekohe Hill Reserve

 

Tuakau

  • Central business district
  • Centennial Park
  • Alexandra Redoubt Reserve
  • Les Batkin Reserve
  • Taukau Domain Recreation Reserve

 



Waiuku

  • Central business district
  • Hamilton Estate
  • Massey Park
  • Sandspit Reserve
  • Kariotahi beach between the north and south markers
