Council owns and administers the following public cemeteries in Franklin. There are also private cemeteries and historic cemeteries. This page tells you where they are and gives an overview of fees. For more detailed information please phone Customer Services on 09 2371 300.
From 1 November 2010 the new territorial local authority boundaries will determine which Council will be responsible for each cemetery.

At present we can not offer an online search but if you are looking for a particular plot you are welcome to contact us. The more information you can provide the more successful the search is likely to be. If you can, please supply to following information:
The name of the person buried or the person that holds the plot you are looking for.
- Include first and last name, and also the maiden name and possible alternative spelling of the name if appropriate.
- The cemetery name and location
- Date of death and date of burial
