The Tuakau Recycling Depot, located on St Stephens Ave, will close on 12 October. A sign advising of the change has been in place at the depot since September.
Tuakau residents are being encouraged to take advantage of their kerbside recycling service. Free Quarterly Recycling Drop Off Days have been organised for rural residents over the Waikato River.
Franklin District Council GM Works and Services Barry Bergin says, “Tuakau residents have a kerbside recycling service for their use, which should effectively make the depot redundant. Free Recycling Drop Off Days have been organised for rural residents. These dates are advertised locally.”
The next Recycling Drop Off Day occurs in Pukekawa on 17 October from 8.30am – 12 noon, located at Pukekawa Hall. Onewhero’s Drop Off Day occurs on 14 November from 8.30am – 12 noon, located at the rugby club car park.
Recyclables can also be disposed of free of charge at Pukekohe Transfer Station and the Waiuku Resource Recovery Centre.
