Earth Hour Promo Tour Coming to Town Print

Pukekohe Town Square will play host to an important message next Wednesday.

Mayor Mark Ball and the Executive Director of the World Wide Fund for Nature –New Zealand, Chris Howe, will be promoting Earth Hour to Franklin as part of a national roadshow.

Earth Hour is a global initiative that encourages people to switch off their non-essential lights and appliances for an hour on Saturday March 28 in the hope that people will ‘switch on’ to reducing their energy use.

Franklin District Council is participating in Earth Hour, and encourages the community to visit the roadshow and support Earth Hour on 28 March.

Franklin District Mayor Mark Ball says, “Come along to the Pukekohe Town Square on Wednesday from 12pm-1.00pm to learn more about Earth Hour and how you can reduce your energy use. There will also be a Toyota Prius hybrid car on display, which is up for grabs in a national competition.”

The hybrid car, painted Earth Hour black and valued at NZ$46,490 (RRP), will be won in a random draw from those who enter the competition at www.earthhour.org/newzealand.
