Council has designed a series of factsheets about the Rural Plan Change (Plan Change 14). Please download the fact sheets to learn more. These factsheets are intended to provide general information only and are not intended as a legal document. Factsheet 2 discusses Rural and Coastal growth, dealing with predicted future growth in these areas. This covers everything from capacity and servicing, to demand and fragmentation.
Fact Sheet 3 discusses key Rural and Coastal objectives. These objectives are part of a resource management strategy which are in place to protect and enhance our natural enivornment. This factsheet also explains the Zones within the district's boundary and the management areas of the Rural Plan Change.
Fact Sheet 4 explains Transferable Rural Lot Rights, how they are used, managed and average lot size requirements, plus specific assessment criteria.
Fact Sheet 6 outlines different controls used by the Rural Plan Change to protect the coast and also people and property from coastal hazards such as erosion.
