Reserves Acquisition & Development Plan 2007 Print

Franklin’s population growth is placing increasing pressure on existing open space. This Reserves
Acquisition and Development (RAD) Plan provides a planning tool for Council to ensure that the growth
of the District is accompanied by the provision of sufficient quantity, quality and distribution of open space
and recreational facilities to ensure identified community needs and environmental goals are met.

The RAD Plan’s vision for the District is: “to provide quality reserves for recreation, sport and amenity
which are interlinked by green corridors that provide safe walking and cycling routes while also providing
wildlife refuge and sustaining ecological values.”
