Franklin District Council has a Mayor elected by the District at large,  representing the whole of Franklin.

There are also 12 Councillors elected by Ward, and two community boards (four members each).

Council recently held a by-election for an extraordinary vacancy on the Onewhero/Tuakau Community Board. The results of the by-election are shown below.
